Dallas Fire Fighters Will Risk It All To Keep You Safe
Your Dallas Fire Fighters will risk it all to keep you safe, and they did just that on Thursday when two fire fighters were injured while fighting a five-alarm fire at an apartment complex for senior citizens.
Fire fighters responded to the Serenity Apartments, a Dallas senior living center, just after 6:30 p.m. and found smoke pouring from the second floor. About 100 fire fighters responded to the blaze, which displaced more than 60 residents. Fortunately, none of the tenants were injured in the fire.
While fire fighters were fighting the blaze and helping residents escape, two members suffered injuries. Fortunately, the injuries are minor, and both fire fighters will make a full recovery.
“Your fire fighters will do everything in their power to keep you safe, even if that means putting themselves in harm’s way,” said Jim McDade, president of Dallas Fire Fighters Association IAFF Local 58. “We’re fortunate that these brave fire fighters will make a full recovery, but it’s just another example of how Dallas fire fighters put their lives on the line to protect others.”
